Every summer WBRU works hard to bring great alternative music to their faithful listeners and the city of Providence. Their free summer concert series is held at Waterplace Park in Providence on select Friday evenings in the summer and is open to people of all ages. The bands consist of the WBRU Rock Hunt winner as well as rising indie artists. Many of the groups attending are in the process of becoming well known and successful in the music industry. Some alums of this concert series included The 1975, Walk the Moon, Cold War Kids, The Neighborhood, Cage the Elephant, New Politics, Death Cab for Cutie and many many more.
