Some advice for the Valentine’s Day weary

Valentine’s Day can be the most wonderful, romantic, stressful and disastrous day of the year. The fate of this day is all based on the status of one’s love life, which may resemble Facebooks’s: “in a relationship,” “it’s complicated,” “single,” “married,” or “civil union.” The outcome is also heavily based on the surprises, gestures, and gifts that you accumulate at the end of the day.
Some girls-let me rephrase that-the majority of girls want a life size teddy bear that they can snuggle with and love until the breakup, when it will most likely be burned or cut into pieces, but in that moment it is the best gift any love struck girl could receive.
So for all of you boys struggling on what to get your Valentine’s Day date, you can never go wrong with an enormous teddy bear. The other fool proof gift is chocolate, although we girls may complain about being fat or not toned; we will never turn down chocolate not even if you’re Jillian Michaels.
Jewelry is also a foolproof Valentine’s Day gift that will surely to get you some brownie points. Make sure it is her taste, something your girlfriend/crush will absolutely like, otherwise she will have to pretend that it is amazing and then go home and cry because her Valentine does not know her well enough to pick out a piece of jewelry she likes, but no pressure.
But this may not be enough for the romantic girlfriend and if you are paired with one of these, the simple chocolate and teddy bear will not suffice. This is when a surprise is in order. These romantic types want to be wined, dined, and swept off their feet by your romantic gestures. This type of girl wants to go home that night filled with bliss and overwhelmed with satisfaction by her gentleman’s conduct.
In order to do this a date is necessary. Surprise her with a night on the town she will never forget. This does not mean you have to spend one hundred dollars at the fanciest restaurant, but there has to be some serious thought and planning to make it perfect, and that is when you must use your own intuition about what your Valentine enjoys.
The only ways you can really go wrong on Valentine’s Day is to show up with nothing in hand, your girl will be crushed and never forget that moment, and I can vouch for that one.
So, plan ahead, be thoughtful, and make it a night she will not be likely to forget. The outcome of this day is in your hands…so don’t mess it up!
