Milky Chance- Milky Chance is a folk duo that encompasses electronic and reggae sounds into their music. Their album “Sadnecessary” was released in 2013. It contains songs such as “Stunner,” which uphold upbeat and relaxing melodies.
“Snow in Newark”
Ryan Hemsworth featuring Dawn Golden- From Hemsworth’s album “Alone for the First Time,” “Snow in Newark” exhibits the vocals of Dawn Golden. This song portrays the electronic music that Hemsworth is well known for, as well as a peaceful and soothing sound.
“Dramamine”
Modest Mouse- Formed by singer/guitarist Isaac Brock, drummer Jeremiah Green, and bassist Eric Judy in 1993, Modest Mouse is an American indie rock band. Their song “Dramamine” is from their album. “This as a Long Drive for Someone With Nothing to Think About.”
The intro of this song is purely instrumental, leading up to vocals during the middle, thus engulfing listeners.
“English House”
Fleet Foxes- An American indie folk band, this song is from their album entitled “Giant Sun.” Much of Fleet Foxes music, including this song, consists of country and folk roots which provide for a soulful sound.
“Good to Sea”
Pinback- Pinback was established in 1998 by members Burwell Smith IV and Rob Crow. “Good to Sea” is from their fourth full length album “Autumn of Seraphs.” This song encompasses an upbeat melody and a catchy tune. It is also good to sea that this song was featured in the television show.
“How Did I Get Here”
Odesza- Odesza is an American electronic music duo from Seattle formed by Harrison Mills and Clayton Knight. This song is taken from their album “Summer’s Gone,” released in 2012.
“How Did I Get Here” consists of overlaying vocals and an electronic beat that runs throughout the song.
“Toes”
Glass Animals- The newly formed band Glass Animals produced their first album “Zaba” in June 2014. “Toes,” much like the band’s other songs, contains a unique sound provided by the band’s lead vocalist Dave Bayley along with the instrumentals. Bayley’s vocals enrich the music and give off an eerie and captivating sound.
“Amenamy”
Purity Ring- Composed of Megan James and Corin Roddick, Purity Ring is a Canadian electronic duo. “Amenamy” is from their album “Fineshrine” released in 2012. This song contains an electronic melody, but has lyrics that are not repetitive.
“Swing Tree”
Discovery- Discovery is an indie/rock/electronic project consisting of members Rostam Batmanglij, the keyboardist from Vampire Weekend, and Wesley Miles, the vocalist from Ra Ra Riot. The friends began recording together the summer of 2005 and have produced songs including “Swing Tree.” This song gives off a positive and pop vibe.
“Left Alone”
Flume featuring Chet Faker- Harley Edward Streten, better known as Flume, is an Australian electronic music instrumentalist, producer, and DJ. His song “Left Alone” features vocals by Chet Faker, also an Australian musician. This song encompasses soulful vocals in an electronic sound, creating a unique mix.
