Stamp has been playing hockey for nine years now. It all started when he was around seven years old, when his father signed him up for some ice time. Joining his first official league, his immense love for the sport. Stamp said, “I loved it immediately. It just kind of sparked.” Little did he know, how much his love and unknown talent for the sport would grow over time.

By the time he entered middle school, Stamp was competing in tournaments all over the state with his team. He said, “Middle school is really where I discovered how much I enjoy playing the sport.” Playing on multiple teams allowed Stamp to discover his talents and further his knowledge of the game.

As he entered high school, the competition became much more fierce and the dedication more demanding. Stamp shined through the pack, being one of the very few to make the Varsity team his first year. Stamp said, “I was very excited when I made the team freshmen year. “I was a little overwhelmed going up against the bigger and older guys.” This uncertainty has disappeared as he is currently he is a labeled as a First-Team. Junior starter for NK’s Division II hockey team. Being an upperclassmen, Stamp now is now a leader and extremely thankful for his team recognizing the importance in teamwork, he said, “Without teamwork it’s hard to be successful”.

Not only does Stamp exceed on the ice, but he does so on the lacrosse field in the spring as well. He has been playing lacrosse since he was nine. He began playing after he discovered his immense love for hockey. Soon after, he realized how similar the two sports were and wanted to take up both. However, Stamp prefers hockey over lacrosse because of his longer involvement in the sport and overall passion, along with his greater talent in hockey.

His personal goal for this season is to win a state championship in sports.  Stamp also intends to pursue his love for hockey in the next period of his life; college. Being a junior, he is not quite sure of where we will attend college, but knows he wants to play hockey. “Attending a Division I school would be incredible”, said Stamp. Realizing the difficulties in that, he also says he would enjoy playing Division II or III, if possible.
