How to initiate the Perfect Valentine’s Day Date
Valentine’s Day is filled with expectations both large and small, this piece will help you fill and exceed these expectations. First, I will share my experience regarding the perfect date. My significant other calls me and decidedly sets up a time to pick me up…score! He arrives early, five whole minutes in fact, comes to the door and greets my parents in the most gentlemanly way possible.
Continuing with this chivalrous manner, he opens the door for me to get in his car and takes me to a five star restaurant. After a great meal he picks up the bill and tip and we head off to the entertainment of the night…then unfortunately, I woke up from my fabulous dream.
I personally have never had a perfect date, but here is how I’d pull it off on Valentine’s Day. First, the choice of place and entertainment all depends on the personality of your significant other and what they like.
Make sure you know that your partner will like what you have set up for the night, it may seem juvenile, but it is necessary. If you are thoughtful and romantic, the night will be executed without any problems, but any roadblocks may lead to some serious disappointment, or worst, tears.
Dinner is an absolute must on this day unless you are still in the awkward stage of your relationship that’s when flowers and candy will suffice. Make sure the place of choice does not smell weird, have sticky seats, or rude waitresses chomping on gum.
There should be a post-dinner activity such as ice skating, a movie (if you do not want to listen to your date talk anymore) or simply taking a walk somewhere romantic, like the beach or the park.
If you are having any doubts pick up some romantic movies and follow those ever so smooth actors, who always seem to do the right thing at the right time.
