Why America Needs to Have Universal Healthcare
America needs to convert to a universal healthcare system at this day and age to help jobless or financially unstable people get the healthcare that they need.
Due to the COVID-19, many people are in need of healthcare and medical supplies. However, many people are jobless at the moment because of the pandemic. With many people lacking a source of income, healthcare will prove less affordable; ironically during a time when people need it the most.
Healthcare supplies are getting more expensive due to their demand. On top of that, supply is running low.
The United States has one of the best, if not the best, healthcare supplies and technology. It is fairly easy to determine why healthcare is so expensive, but that renders many financially unstable US citizens helpless.
Without health insurance, if you were to be injured or hospitalized, you would have to pocket that money yourself.
The average cost for health insurance for a single individual is $456 a month, but for a family it would be around $1,152, which could be hard to pay every month.
Medical supplies and healthcare could be quite expensive for an average person. The average cost of an ambulance could be around $400 to $1200, which is a lot of money. Many people might not have the extra cash and would rather be personally driven to hospitals than to call an ambulance.
Not everyone will be able to afford health insurance and basic healthcare, but by having a universal healthcare system, more people would be able to attain these betterments in order to stay healthy during this pandemic.

This is very true. I very much agree with you. Pretty much every other first world democracy has healthcare as a human right. It is wrong to make profit of someone battling cancer or other life threatening conditions. Healthcare is not a luxury item, it is something everyone needs.
