In the arts hall of the school, you might have heard an orchestra working on their latest piece, or perhaps you listened in during October 30’s concert in the auditorium. These projects are led by a humorous new member of North Kingstown High School’s staff.
Mrs. Katherine Boisclair previously worked at Davisville Middle School for six years. She has taken the role of teaching choir, orchestra, and theatre.
“I can’t live a day without anything involving music,” she said. “I’ve wanted to work here for a while. I’m a very social person, so teaching what I love is very special.”
She lives with her husband. In her personal life, she enjoys traveling and baking.
“I have a sweet tooth,” she said. “I much prefer baking over cooking.”
She is currently working towards her Master’s degree in music education at the University of Florida. She has already obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Rhode Island.
Regarding her goals for the year, she said that she wants to maintain a balance of work and fun, wanting to be her best self. She hopes to create a safe space for everyone.
“The arts have a place for every single person,” she said. “Every person is welcome and can have success in art.”
