Senior Emily Martin is an avid expeditionist of fictional universes: her room contains piles of books adorning the carpet, and her Goodreads is often active. Emily dreams of working as an editor, so she plans to go to college to get a degree in literature in the meantime. Alongside the books, records also lie in piles around her Saunderstown residence. Music is always circulating through her gold Kia Soul, typically lyrics from the discographies of Greta Van Fleet, Phoebe Bridgers, and Taylor Swift. This summer, Emily could be found going on various adventures with friends, frequenting Narragansett Beach, completing her excessive AP summer work, or working as a barista for Milk Caffe (however, she doesn’t recommend catering Newport Polo). Although she would hate to abandon her two cats and her local Starbucks, Emily would love to visit Italy or return to her grandparent’s beach house in New Jersey. Her favorite fictional world is the Percy Jackson universe because she loves Greek mythology and would love Camp Half Blood even more. However, if she could be any fictional character, she’d transform into Thumbelina, since she’s never in mortal danger like most fictional characters, and being tiny and living in a flower would be pretty cool.
