Art club profile

Joining a club is an excellent opportunity to meet new people with the same interests and goals as you. The art club is one such group.

You can acquire new skills regardless of whether you want to do art professionally or just as a hobby that will serve you in college and the future.

If you plan to apply to an art school, joining the art club will boost your résumé and increase your chances of getting into a good art college.

One of the benefits of this club is that they allow different types of projects and inform on competitions in any field of art, such as drawing, painting, ceramics, design, sculpture, digital art, and much more.

These competitions can be a valuable opportunity for students. They can win wonderful prizes such as scholarships, money, recognition, trips, and much more. It can be a national or international competition.

If you don’t have materials to work with, the art club provides basic tools to make almost any type of art, but students are encouraged to bring their own materials if they have them.

“Some people may feel insecure about their abilities and may think they need to be better,” said art teacher and club advisor Ms. Janice Strain. “But it’s never too late to start practicing, and they need to remember, they have nothing to lose and everything to gain.”

In the art club, you can expand your creativity, experiment, improve your skills and create unique things. If this sounds interesting to you, join the art club.

This creation by junior Marykate Hanus was awarded an honorable mention at the Regional Scholastic Awards in 2021.
